About
I am a recent Architecture graduate seeking a role as a Part 1 Architectural Assistant. I have a strong interest in sustainable and adaptive reuse architecture, believing the construction industry has a major responsibility in tackling climate change due to its significant contribution to global carbon emissions. My design approach focuses on reusing and revitalising existing buildings rather than demolition and rebuild, preserving embodied carbon and cultural heritage while creating spaces that are environmentally responsible and socially valuable. I am particularly interested in climate-responsive architecture that reconnects people with nature through biodiversity, natural materials, and energy-efficient design strategies. I aim to contribute to projects that balance innovation with preservation, creating architecture that is resilient, sustainable, and sensitive to both communities and landscapes.
Architecture
I am ambitious with a drive to better myself and to achieve my goal of becoming a qualified and successfully architect. I am enthusiastic and willing to learn and adapt to new challenges I may face during both my further education and work opportunities. I look forward to building the foundations for a successful career in architecture. I am keen to gain invaluable work experience to support my progression on my chosen university degree course and further my future development and will give my very best in all work opportunity afforded to me while I study for my degree and further onto the masters degree qualification.
Personal
Alongside my academic studies, I have always been actively involved in sport and leadership roles, which have helped me develop discipline, teamwork, organisation, and resilience.
I served as President of the University Ski Team, having previously held the positions of Race Captain and Team Treasurer. Before this I trained and competed with Rossendale Slalom Race Squad. These leadership roles have required commitment, organisation, and a disciplined training regime.
I was also an active member of the Scouts, where I completed a range of skill challenges including navigation, orienteering, survival training, and leadership activities such as guiding group walks and planning meals. In recognition of my achievements, I was awarded the Scouts Silver Award at Chorley Town Hall. During my time in Scouts, I was selected to represent my group as part of a Lancashire delegation visiting the Houses of Parliament, where we met Sir Lindsay Hoyle and discussed topics including environmental sustainability and climate change which shaped my views on architecture till this day.
